First Week of School

It's official, we have made it through the first week of school! The girls have been amazingly wonderful, so far. And they are loving school! Yay!

My ten year old, whom I call Mama, asked me to go and buy book covers for her textbooks. Buy book covers! What ever happened to using paper bags and make them, like we did when I was growing up? Luckily for me, she liked the idea of making them. Out came the paper bags, permanent markers (I have the giant package that Bic makes with over 30 colors), scissors and tape. I covered the books and she got to be creative on the covers. Mama loves to use her imagination too, so that was a big plus.

Some of the kids in her class like her paper bag book covers! You can doodle (without using up all your school paper) and learn at the same time. What a concept! Why spend $4.00-ish on cloth book covers that don't always fit the books when you can go free?
